ARTISOFT NOW SHIPPING FRENCH, GERMAN, ITALIAN & SPANISH VERSIONS OF
LANTASTIC(R) FOR WINDOWS(TM) PRODUCTS
Including LANtastic For Windows Starter Kits & Network Interface
(TUCSON, Ariz. -- November 24, 1992) -- Artisoft announced today
that it is now shipping its award-winning LANtastic for Windows
products in localized versions for the European and Latin American
markets.
Both the LANtastic for Windows network interface and the LANtastic
for Windows Starter Kit, which packages the interface with a
LANtastic AE-2(TM) or A2Mbps(TM) Starter Kit, are now available in
French, German, Italian and Spanish.
"We are pleased that we can now offer our international customers
localized versions of the LANtastic network for both DOS and
Windows environments," said Dave Hallmen, Artisoft's Vice President
of Sales & Marketing. "This is an important step in our ongoing
effort to support the international market."
The LANtastic for Windows network interface offers the same
features as the DOS-based network's NET and NET_MGR programs, but
within the easy, graphical user interface of Microsoft(R) Windows
pull-down menus, icons and on-line help. It supports Dynamic Data
Exchange (DDE) over the network so that LANtastic e- mail can be
used to exchange messages and transfer data from Windows
applications. For example, with DDE, a user can create an Excel
spreadsheet and send it to a remote user who will then be able to
double-click on the file to open it in the application in which it
was originally created. Purchased separately from the LANtastic
Network Operating System software, this interface runs with
LANtastic v4.x and Microsoft Windows v3.x.
LANtastic Starter Kits offer a complete hardware and software
networking solution for two PCs -- two Artisoft(TM) adapters,
LANtastic NOS (which supports up to 300 users), cabling and
documentation -- from which users can add nodes by installing
additional adapters and cabling. Designed to offer a one-stop
solution, LANtastic Starter Kits allow users to build networks
around their choice of Artisoft adapters.
Artisoft develops and manufactures a full line of innovative, cost-
effective network communication solutions including the LANtastic
Local Area Network. Recognized as the leader in peer-to-peer
networking for DOS and Windows environments, the LANtastic network
now offers multiplatform connectivity solutions for NetWare(R),
Macintosh(R) and TCP/IP environments. It allows up to 300 users of
IBM(R)- compatible computers to connect and share information and
peripheral devices such as printers, hard drives and CD-ROMs and
has won numerous industry awards for its cost-effective features,
performance and ease of use. Artisoft distributes its hardware and
software products in over 70 countries worldwide and maintains
international offices in the Netherlands, the United Kingdom,
France, Germany, Italy, Latin America, Australia and Japan.
